Because there's no good reason to bother with them at all! They're only useful as a supplementary code documentation solution when the entire team is aware and collaborating with them.

Compared to a README, code comments, work items/ tickets, PR documentation, or even centralized code documentation in Notion or another source, Git Notes are clearly inferior.
