Cool concept! Have you seen the backpack with the suspension? The laptop slot reminded me of that for some reason.

As far as the comfort of having the turtle shell on your back, I would look for inspiration with the product called turtle that’s an airbag vest for motorcyclists. the idea there is that you have a hard outer shell and a softer inner shell, so you might imagine a gap between your body and the laptop filled with air or hydraulic fluid or gel or something to improve comfort.

Finally I imagine a heavy lap top would pull the entire collar down causing it to choke you in the front. I’m not really sure how that would work except lots of elastic in other places to hold it, or backpack esque straps stitched into the design.
