Even without private equity or public shareholders, I was always pushed to work 5-15+ hours a week in unpaid overtime when I worked as a physical therapist, with student loans greater than 1x my salary and a mortgage greater than 4x my salary.

The longer I've worked, and the more industries I've worked in, I've realized that there is always an ignorant-but-successful person running things, and they always think they're God's gift to Earth because they've managed to make a little money.
