Fascia blasting is a type of myofascial release, but it's different from foam rolling. The article I linked says that you can cause bruising and other cellular damage by applying excess pressure via your body weight on a hard foam roller or ball.
Foam rolling is actually more a type of self-massage using compression compared to self-myofascial-release. Fascia blasting uses a very light pressure and is very different from foam rolling.
I would still recommend foam rolling in some limited cases, like as a general massage technique to reduce hypertonicity in certain muscles such as the quads or as a prop to perform self-mobilizatiom i.e. of the thoracic spine by arching your back over the foam roller.
