I applaud that you had a counterproposal -- my experience on dating apps is that if I propose to meet then the conversation is dead on arrival.

Obviously said guy sounds like a waste of time.

My question to you would be what has your experience been on said apps? I've heard they're mostly for casual sex (after all, they're based on Grindr, the hookup app). So maybe I shouldn't be surprised that "getting coffee" isn't what people are looking for.
