I hope I illustrated how writing semantic commit messages (using the “conventional commit”) formatting makes it extremely difficult to write a 50 character title. I was also making the point that it’s a waste of engineering time to make your colleagues go click the ellipsis in GitHub compared to just including a full “Git log” in your PR. Finally, you’re wrong about the 50 character limit having anything to do with GitHub; as I showed in the article, GitHub actually has a 70 character limit before including the ellipsis.
