Huh? I read a novel a week (often more) mostly from book series that cost $4 or less on my Kindle.
The dream of "getting my novel or memoir published by a traditional publisher -- that will be enough for the rest of my life to live off of" has always been pure delusion.
I didn't buy novels before I got my Kindle, and now I buy them all the time. But the successful indie novelists have written 20+ novels to build an audience, so yeah I mean "a novel" is a stupid idea.
But writing 20+ novels can be much more lucrative than writing 200+ articles because the former is highly likely to earn $25,000 while the latter is unlikely to do so.
