I typically make 10-20 atomic commits with 10-20 words of informative documentation each workday.

Since I merge a PR just about every day, meaning I'm preserving 100-400 words of documentation daily.

I don't understand why I would want to throw away that documentation for a squash commit that reads "Merged PR."
