I'm not sure, George. I recently made over 30 commits in 1 workday while refactoring an important component, and each commit message was 10-30 words. I don't think rewriting 750 words into a single summary, and then assigning that squash commit summary to every changed line, would be as useful as my original commit history if something goes wrong.
