I've been on the other side of the therapeutic relationship as a massage therapist and physical therapist, and I wonder about this rule in psychotherapy sometimes.

100% of the time when I disclose to a patient with typical knee pain (PFPS) that I've overcome it myself (and have managed it chronically for over 20 years) it has deepened the therapeutic relationship. Or I could be projecting? 😂
