Of course, any resume can be a lie. If anything, it seems easier to fact-check people's credentials now that you can pull up their LinkedIn than when a paper resume came in the mail.

For medical doctorates (including PT), any work history in the field would led credence to the fact that the person actually has said doctorate. That could also be a lie, though an intrepid reporter could call and ask about it, I suppose.
