The point of serverless like any technology is to provide an amazing user experience while also providing a secure, cost-effective option with an amazing developer experience -- same as any software tool.
AWS Lambda fails to do that for no other reason than there's a cheaper option to do the same available to "smart devs" from the same company: AWS Fargate.
No other company would be as arrogant as AWS in providing multiple similar products that actually need at least a few hours a month to "manage costs" for something that is eminently worse than its cheaper competitors like serverless Vercel.
I learned that lesson when I worked at a major company that required 40-60+ minute builds (at GitLab with deployments at AWS) for each of the 3 environments, causing the release process to take 4+ hours at a minimum.
