This is a great point, and it’s a good reason to use footnotes on Medium if you need to include research.

That said, I love the idea that I’m curating resources and quotes that others may benefit from, at least in my niche of programming tutorials.

I’d rather be liked by my audience for including others' relevant work than for acting like any one piece of technical writing can be a complete guide.
